Remove Skunk Odor

If your pet has managed to get sprayed by a skunk Simple Solution has a great Skunk Odor Eliminator
available. Unfortunately most of us don't actually plan on our pet getting sprayed by a skunk so you're probably going to need to remove the skunk smell using home remedies.

Important note: home remedies can stain your pets coat, so if you don't want to go this route then it's probably a good idea to keep a bottle of Skunk-Off Shampoo
on hand at all times.

If possible keep the pet outside, because the last thing that you want is the skunk odor all over the house. Also you're going to want to get the odor out as soon as possible, otherwise the bad odor could last for a very long time. Before starting be sure to put on old clothes and a pair of rubber gloves.

1. Wash the area that was sprayed using pet shampoo, this will keep the skunk scent from spreading over the rest of your pet. Otherwise if the spray is covering a large area you're going to have to completely wash your pet.

2. Pour a large can or bottle of tomato juice over your pet, and allow to set for approx. 20 minutes before shampooing again. If the tomato juice didn't work then you might like to try step #3.

3. Mix together 1 qt. of 3% hydrogen peroxide with 1/2 cup baking soda and more of the pet shampoo. Then massage this into your pets fur and let set for approx. 10 minutes before rinsing.

Tips:
If your pet has managed to spread the skunk odor to your home you're going to need to use a product like Room Shocker to remove the bad odor.
